I’m Amber Peterson-wife, mom and content marketing specialist. I have had a long entrepreneurial road that has resulted in the creation of Pinwheel Strategic Marketing. I have grown two businesses in the wedding industry using the marketing techniques that we offer to our clients. It is such a pleasure to help other women-owned businesses get more visibility and revenue through content marketing and SEO.
Professional Background
I started my wedding planning company, Cheers Wedding Planning & Design in 2009 after having my first daughter. I loved the creative outlet and challenge wedding planning offered me. In 2013 I founded the Skagit Wedding Society, a small group for wedding professionals to meet and collaborate on weddings, styled shoots, and to promote Skagit County, WA as a premier wedding destination in the PNW. In addition to connecting wedding professionals with one another, the Skagit Wedding Society also produced the annual Skagit Wedding Tour.
In 2019 I planned my final wedding and made the jump to running my marketing agency exclusively. While I will always have a place in my heart for the wedding industry, I found my passion in helping other women grow their businesses with strategic marketing practices. I know how difficult it can be to wear all the hats as a business owner and often marketing is placed on the back burner, even though it is exactly what is needed for growth.
Education
In addition to working in the wedding industry since 2009, my background and education are in marketing. I graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a BA in Public Relations in 2003. In 2007 I earned my Masters of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. During graduate school, I held an internship with the Chicago Merchandise Mart and after graduation, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest where I accepted a Marketing Director position.
I married my husband in 2003 and we have three brilliant and lovely daughters and a sweet little Boston terrier. We love living in Washington and spend as much time as we can enjoying activities like hiking, camping and wine tasting.
